The objective of the internship is to give you a first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment of the United Nations. You will be given a real chance to work with our people. As part of our team, working directly with outstanding and inspiring career professionals and senior management, you will be exposed to high-profile conferences, participate in meetings, and contribute to analytical work as well as organizational policy of the United Nations.

Initially you will take on the amount of responsibility you can shoulder; the potential for growth, however, is yours to develop. For a one-year term, an American between the ages of is selected to engage and connect young people in the U.

Over the course of the fellowship, Emerging Leaders will design an action plan and work with their local UNA-USA chapter and other community organizations to implement their idea. The Emerging Leaders Fellowship is offered twice per year, with each cohort focused on a new issue area. The United Nations Intensive Summer Study Program, designed for graduate students, advanced undergraduates, and mid-career professionals, immerses participants in the political dynamics of the UN.

Students spend a week learning the inner workings of the UN by coming together with distinguished practitioners working in the field of multilateral diplomacy.

Students in the certificate programs may live in one of Yale's residential colleges with other summer students, and have a full residential program with a residential counselor, activities, and access to Yale's libraries and gym. We offer trips to New York City to see Broadway plays, a baseball game, or take in the sites. There are trips to local attractions such as amusement parks, beaches, and shopping outlets. There are also on-campus activities, such as Yale faculty lectures, sports, game nights, and much more!
