The following screen is the Action screen. Double-click the Task Name if you need to work with the settings. A window pops up telling us that Windows will shut down in less than a minute. You can click on the Close button but that will just close that window and Windows itself will continue to shut down.

Good but tell me one thing. Microsoft sure makes it hard to do simple things. And when you learn it in one OS, they change it in the next OS just out of spite! Or at least it feels like that to me.

Do you happen to know how to change the button on the main screen that shows all the accounts when the screen is locked? I don't want it to automatically shutdown because my son keeps hitting it.

I've used the shutdown command to ensure the computer gets turned off at a certain time in XP, but I just wanted to set my own computer to shut down after accidentally booting to Vista Home in order to download a large file while I was at work. I tried shutdown -s -t , which should have set a two and a half hour delay, but it gave me the help screen message.

Tried doing this thro Task Scheduler but it wouldn't work. My PC's my TV too and I sometimes fall asleep watching so I can set this up to happen at 2ish in the morning, then when my mains auto switch turns off at the PC will already be shut down.
