PRTF programs are designed to provide short-term, intense, focused treatment that is offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sixteen-year-old youth who have demonstrated an ability to handle independent living responsibilities may be granted an exception for placement if approved by the Program Manager.
Skilled staff at the Pathway Protection Center for Children provide care, structure, and supervision for youth who have been removed from their homes and placed in Police Protective Custody or in foster care through the Department of Children and Families.
Additionally, they lack independent living skills, employment experience, and transportation. Some might have been homeless prior to entering our program. Some are parenting teens with little or no parenting skills or support. Others may have intellectual disabilities. Kansas City, MO Pathways also offers a 12 bed step down male program PAC 2 for youth ages that have done well in our residential program.
All programs provide comprehensive care in a response to the individual needs of troubled youth and their families in close cooperation with other service providers. As part of the programs at Pathways, we also provide a privately licensed academic school. Pathways will provide all youth placed for 30 days an Individual Service Plan to drive treatment based on the YLS, case plans, and psychological evaluation.
This plan will be updated every 6 months. Pathways is committed to the principles of Balanced and Restorative Justice for our delinquent youth and implementing evidence based programming within the BARJ framework. Youth are held accountable through meaningful community service projects and efforts to earn money towards restitution obligations. Youth also have the opportunity to complete the Victim and Community Awareness curriculum and understand how their behaviors have impacted others and the community, and then learn ways they can repair the harm and restore victims.
Competency development and skill building efforts are incorporated in our counseling and group services, as well as through our educational setting and unit routines.
Pathways Transitional Living Program provides two 2 twelve 12 bed, privately owned transitional living homes located in Oil City, Pennsylvania.
Its purpose is to provide comprehensive care in response to the individual needs of troubled youths and their families in close cooperation with other service providers. The program accepts at-risk, male children between the ages of sixteen 16 and twenty-one Each youth will spend a minimum of thirty 30 days in Pathways Residential Program prior to acceptance into the Transitional Living Program.
