I'm pretty sure I have the tools to do it. See if the solution helps. Vidios Unfortunately, I stumbled on that exact support article and used the fix, which tried to restart the non-existent service I managed to get a screenshot from another system I own Win XP, though that showed the properties of the spooler service. I then managed to find the exe needed and managed to put the service back, somewhat.
Printing works and whatnot, but I'm afraid that if I don't put things back exactly as before, something may foul up in the future. Aibek If the printing works now I wouldn't bother about it. You can leave this dialog open. Delete the contents of this folder. Back at the Printer Spooler Properties dialog, click on Start. Turn your printer back on. Print something.
If your printing problem was related to a stuck printer queue, you should now be able to print again or get more information and help from here for printer help. Well it sure helped me anyway: it worked.. I have an HP Photosmart c and it was doing the same thing. Wont print because it had a document in queue that would not allow me to print or delete.
I tried everything for several days until I read and tried your solution above. It was back up and printing in no time. Thank you sooo much. Just in time for my daughter's project which is due tomorrow. It set her back a couple of days but at least she can get printing now.
THanks again. Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service". Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them. Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go. Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.
Is this service disabled? Go to services. Check state: Automatic. Remove Stuck Print Jobs. This was great. Thank you michelsmith! I had a devil of a time adding a printer and it turned out that once I clearer the printer folder of the files I had an easy time of it. If the other procedures don't work, THIS one is almost certain to work. You may have a lot of updates to re-install including any service packs you had to remove.
Hopefully one of these procedures will resolve your problem. If not, post back and we'll try something else. Post back in any case so we'll know how it turned out.
Good luck! Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. My print spooler service seems to be non existent. When trying to start the spooler through the Services Manager, I get the message: "Windows could not start the Print Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.
